At Choice Cancer Care, one of our top priorities is offering the most up-to-date and advanced technological treatment options. With this huge value placed on advanced therapies, we invest in the most trusted hardware and software in the market. We believe that our approach should be comprehensive, complete and convenient to access for all patients. That is why our outpatient centers offer comprehensive cancer treatment programs that assist our staff in detection, prevention, treatment, and research.

PET/CT Scanner: At the Las Colinas location, a PET/CT scanner is available on-site. It is under the management of Radiology Associates and will allow easy scheduling of appointments and provide patients the ease and convenience of returning to a familiar location.

Radiation Therapy with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) combines extremely precise tumor imaging techniques with delivery of hundreds of thin beams of radiation to the exact tumor location in three-dimensional patterns from any angle. Results are precise control of radiation delivery, reduced radiation dosages, declining complication rates, and fewer side effects. This technology has raised the bar in radiation therapy nationwide. This service is available at both Las Colinas Cancer Center and North Texas Cancer Center of Wise.

Radiation Therapy with Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) is recognized as the finest technology available in radiation oncology at this time. This technology allows the radiation beam to be altered depending upon day-to-day movement of the tumor. It is used in combination with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). This service is available at the Las Colinas Cancer Center.

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy is a new technology that delivers highly potent biological doses of radiation to the tumor, improving the cure rate for that tumor, in a manner previously not achievable by standard conventional therapy.

RapidArc® – the next dimension in speed and precision
RapidArc® radiotherapy technology is a major advance from Varian Medical Systems that improves dose conformity while significantly shortening treatment times. RapidArc delivers treatments two to eight times faster than our fastest dynamic treatments today and increases precision – a winning combination that enables physicians to improve the standard of care. This service is available at the Las Colinas Cancer Center.

RapidArc is a volumetric arc therapy that delivers a precisely sculpted 3D dose distribution with a single 360-degree rotation of the linear accelerator gantry. It is made possible by a treatment planning algorithm that simultaneously changes three parameters during treatment:

    • rotation speed of the gantry
    • shape of the treatment aperture using the movement of multileaf collimator leaves
    • delivery dose rate.

Volumetric modulated arc therapy differs from existing techniques like helical IMRT or intensity-modulated arc therapy (IMAT) because it delivers dose to the whole volume, rather than slice by slice. And the treatment planning algorithm ensures the treatment precision, helping to spare normal healthy tissue.

    SpaceOAR® Hydrogel

SpaceOAR® Hydrogel is an option for men who undergo radiation treatment for prostate cancer. It acts as a spacer providing space between the rectum and the prostate, making it much less likely that the rectum is exposed to radiation.

    Hidden Scar Breast Cancer Surgery
An advanced approach to removing breast cancer. The surgeon will place the incision in a location that is hard to see, so that the scar is not visible when the incision heals. As a result, there is little to no visible reminder of the surgery. Our surgeons are trained in Hidden Scar surgical techniques, and together, our goal is to deliver the best surgical treatment and experience.
