Following Prevention Measures Associated with Lowered Cancer Risk

After a new analysis of past data, there is evidence to support that being an active individual and maintaining a healthy diet can decrease the chances of getting diagnosed with some cancer types which could even prove to be fatal. In the United States alone, it is estimated that more than half a million people could die from cancer, and another one and half million would be diagnosed.

  • The results of analyzing 12 studies shows: The twelve largest studies, after analysis, have managed to find a great decrease in the occurrence of breast cancer, colon cancer, and endometrial cancer in individuals who have followed cancer preventive lifestyles in contrast to those who haven’t. It has been shown by recent research that more than twenty percent of cancer in the United States may be due to an unhealthy way of living, an unbalanced diet, a lack of physical activity, excessive intake of alcohol and obesity, among others. If you factor in tobacco, the figure goes to 66 percent of all cancer.
  • The probability of cancer depends on one’s lifestyle: The researchers examined all the largest studies in the last ten years, some which followed several hundred thousand people, and they looked at if the participants had managed to follow the guidelines provided for cancer prevention from the American Cancer Society, and the World Cancer Research Fund. These rules focused on healthy eating, having a mostly vegetarian diet, reduced consumption of alcohol, regular exercise, and keeping fit and a normal body weight.
  • Other types of cancers: Participants who followed the rules were ten to forty-five percent less probable of being patients of cancer, and upto sixty one percent did not die from cancer. However, apart from endometrial, breast, and colorectal cancer, which are considered to be linked to obesity, ovarian and prostate cancer did not have any tangible connection with a healthy lifestyle.

The conclusion was that even the incorporation of some of these rules could potentially save your life someday, as well as make your overall lifestyle’s quality better.
